Allowing HowNowâs AI to collaborate with Authors - as a means of creating quicker yet more tailored Pathways - will set your teams up for an amazing learning experience.
To start using the AI option, open your Pathway and select Create with AI. This will open the AI Pathway Creator slide screen, where you can start putting your requirements in.
The slide screen will feature the following fields:
What is the Pathway about? - This is where youâll need to give some details about your Pathway, and what you want it to achieve for your Users. To help the AI to give the best results, make sure to include:
Description of your Pathway - what is it about exactly? What are the themes? Are there any sub-topics?
Goal of the Pathway - what do you want Users to be able to achieve by taking this pathway? Is it to upskill Managers? Or to teach certain techniques?
Level of content - is this intended to be a Beginners Pathway, or more for Advanced levels?
What Skills do you want the learner to develop? - Select from your library of Skills, choosing those that you want Users to level-up in, once completing the Pathway.
You can add a maximum of 10 Skills
What content sources would you like to use? - Choose from your internal content created via the Studio (the Learn @ HowNow option), and/or any content libraries integrated within your workspace (Udemy for Business, LinkedIn, etc.)
Click the Generate button to kickstart the AIâs creation process.
Rememberâ: While completing the AI Pathway Creator screenâŚ
Make sure that the Skills chosen match the description of your Pathway, as this will help the AI to generate an accurate learning structure for your Users.
For example: a description for a Forex trading Pathway, matched with âSingingâ as a Skill, will cause the AI to ask you to rewrite a more precise description. So in this case, changing the Skill to âCryptocurrencyâ, would be a suitable option.
If you choose to include only internal content, but there isnât any published for your Pathwayâs subject, then the AI will still create the Pathwayâs structure, allowing you to then add content to its Sections, before publishing.
A Section can also be empty if there is no relevant content to match it. This will be highlighted within the Section, to make you aware, and will be automatically removed from the Pathway once itâs published.
To edit your prompt and other fields, simply select the AI Creator button again (image above) in the bottom-right of the page, and this will re-open the Creator slide screen. Making your changes, then regenerating the Pathway will replace any of the previous choices.
Regenerating a Pathway during the creation process will replace any edits/choices made previously.
Before publishing your generated Pathway, youâll be able to make adjustments to the Steps and complete the Settings such as adding assignees and Channels.
Noteâ¨: The following points are essential to note, when creating with AIâŚ
The AI searches within titles and descriptions of content, so for internal materials itâs important that the titles and descriptions reflect exactly what the content is about. For exampleâŚ
A Nugget with a title and short description about engineering, but with body content about sales, will cause AI not to include it in a Sales-based Pathway.
The AI can only respond to prompts in English.
AI Generation becomes unavailable for a Pathway once itâs been published. You would need to generate a new Pathway, in order to make big changes to the pre-existing prompt.
HowNow AI functionality cannot be disabled by any Users, so it acts as an assistant to support Authors in creating Pathways, quickly and in a targeted fashion, should they decide to use it!
HowNow AI doesnât track user behaviour on how an Author is creating their Pathways, but rather uses data from your workspace, to develop Pathways strictly based on content and context. Privacy remains in tact!
