Accessing your pages from Notion, gives you the ultimate freedom to seek the information you need, to get your job done. The following steps give a play-by-play of how to seamlessly integrate your Notion account with your individual workspace.
Activating the Notion option for Users
Admins of the organisation’s workspace can head to the Apps page, to toggle the Notion option on. This will ensure that any existing and newly onboarded Users, will be able to activate the Notion integration from their Profile, as it becomes visible.
Once activated, Users will be able to proceed with the following steps…
Integration of the app
As an individual User, you’ll need to go to your Profile and head to the Integrations tab. From here, scroll to the Notion option and select the Connect option.
You’ll be taken to the confirmation page, for your Notion pages (but will be prompted to sign-in, if you haven't already). This is where you’ll choose which ‘parent’ and ‘child’ pages you want to make accessible to you, via HowNow.
To distinguish between these two pages, let’s look at the definitions for each…
Parent page: A page that is home to your content.
Child page: A page that has been linked to, inside of another parent page.
Choose Select pages from the options provided. This will open your list of Notion parent pages for you to select. These parent pages (and any child pages within them), will be searchable to you, via your HowNow search tools.
Note✨: If you want to later add more pages, beyond the initial ten, then you will need to manually add them, using the search bar…
Selecting Allow Access will authorise the choices made, and successfully connect your Notion integration. You’ll be taken back to your Integrations tab in your Profile.
You can now begin searching for your pages.
Searching for Notion pages on HowNow
Using any of the HowNow search functionalities, will present you with your Notion options, now that your account has been integrated.
It’s important to remember that you’ll only have access to the pages in your Notion that have been shared with you.
The drop-down search, found on your homepage, will always show a Notion section, should you have content accessible to you..
Clicking on this will take you directly to the Notion page.
Managing the Notion pages accessible
You can amend the pages listed in your Notion-HowNow app list, by visiting the Settings within your Notion account.
Select Settings a& members from your Notion side panel menu. A pop-up will open, allowing you to select My connections > the 3-dot menu next to the HowNow app > hover over the Access selected pages option.
