Voice mode lets you talk a problem through with a Guru, or practise out loud. The Guru answers from the same knowledge it uses in the chat.
With the message box empty, select the sound-wave button, allow your microphone permissions on and speak; close the voice screen to finish and get a summary in your chat.
Note: Voice isn't available during a role-play in the chat.
Start a voice conversation
Open the Guru and make sure the message box is empty. The send button changes to a sound-wave button.
Select the sound-wave button. If your browser asks to use your microphone, select Allow.
Wait for the Guru to greet you out loud. Your microphone switches on once the greeting starts.
Speak. To interrupt the Guru, speak over it.
To pause, select the microphone button to mute yourself, and select it again to carry on.
To finish, select the close (X) button.
The voice screen closes and a card is added to your chat with the Duration and "Here is a summary of our voice chat", listing the main points.
Good to know
You can ask for a spoken quiz or role-play, but it isn't scored like those in the chat.
The Guru replies in the language you last spoke. The greeting uses the language of your last typed message, or your profile language if you haven't chatted yet. See Which language Guru replies in.
The typed chat doesn't remember voice conversations. The summary card is for you; the Guru doesn't use it when you go back to typing.
Leaving the page ends the session. If your connection drops, you'll see "Connection lost. Attempting to reconnect". Once it's back, start a new session.
