Multi-Language SCORM Course - Author's creation
Organisations with international teams often need to assign the same SCORM Course in various languages. Completion Settings eliminate the need to produce separate SCORM Courses.
1. To get started, create your SCORM Course from the Studio. In Step Two upload the different versions of your SCORM files, making sure you name them with the corresponding language.
SCORM files, uploaded within a SCORM Course, are also referred to as SCORM Lessons.
2. After assigning your Users, head to the final Release & Deadline step.
The Completion Tracking section, will have two options to choose from. Select, "When one lesson is complete", to allow your Users to complete the SCORM Course, by completing only a single SCORM Lesson.
For example: This means a native English-speaker would only need to complete the "Brand Marketing Revision - English" Lesson.
Note: Scenarios to keep in mind include:
User has completed and passed the Lesson in their chosen language.
If the User revisits the SCORM Course and starts a different language Lesson (or restarts the same Lesson), this will affectively reset their progress.
User is still in progress, with their chosen language.
If the User starts a different language Lesson, their progress for the current Lesson (and entire SCORM Course) will be reset, as they hadn't completed the first Lesson yet.
For the one-lesson option, the Author cannot choose which Lesson must be completed, nor does the platform pre-determine this information. In the Content insights, the title of the SCORM Course will appear as the language it was named in.
If the Lesson is deleted, the SCORM Course Progress will show as "Not Started".
Once a User has started or completed the SCORM Course, the Completion Tracking drop-down will be disabled (greyed-out), locking-in the necessary criteria for passing. This is signified by the caption: "How do you want to track the completion of this course? Please note, this cannot be changed once learners have enrolled."
The drop-down will remain disabled, even after any originally assigned Users - who started or completed the SCORM Course - are deactivated or deleted.
The Completion Tracking option chosen will remain, even if the course is unpublished back to the Studio.
3. Click Save & Publish to set your SCORM Course live.
Multi-Language SCORM Course - The User's View
On the SCORM Course landing page, your User will see the Lesson cards, outlining the learning that's part of the course.
1. Users will always see the following text, reminding them of the criteria for completion: "Please complete one of the lessons to the course."
2. Each Lesson card will show the white-grey tick icon - this means the Lesson has not been completed. Once the User has completed the Lesson, the icon will change to white-green.
3. Once your User selects another Lesson, a Warning pop-up will appear. This informs them that by starting this new Lesson, it will reset their progress for the SCORM Course.
If the User proceeds, the progress in Content insights for the SCORM Course will be reset to the new status.
Full Compliance Essentials SCORM Course - Author's creation
You can choose to create an option that requires all SCORM Lessons to be completed, in order for the SCORM Course to be completed.
1. Create your SCORM and upload your files, in Step Two.
2. Head to the final Release & Deadline step.
In the Completion Tracking section, select "When all lessons are complete". This will lead all Users to complete each compliance Lesson, ensuring they have covered the entire syllabus.
Note: Scenarios to keep in mind include:
User has completed all Lessons required.
If the User revisits the SCORM Course and starts again, this will affectively reset their progress.
