Your self review is your own rating of where you are on a skill today, from 1 (Novice) to 5 (Expert). It's one input to your skill level: ratings from people who review you count too.
Before you start
If the ⋯ menu on Grow has no review options, your organisation manages skills for you. See I can't see the Add Skill button or the ⋯ menu on Grow.
Rate yourself
In the sidebar, select Grow.
Select ⋯ on the skill, then Update Review. If you've never rated the skill, the option is Add Review. On the skill's own page, the same button is called Review Skill.
Select a level from 1 to 5. Pick the level whose description fits what you do now, not where you want to be.
Select Submit Review.
You'll see Skill review updated. Your skill level on Grow is recalculated straight away, and Skills Activity records "Self-review for skill updated to Level N."
Good to know
Your rating is averaged with others. Your skill level is the average of your latest self review and each reviewer's latest rating. For example, if you rate yourself 2 and a manager rates you 4, your level is 3. See How your skill level is calculated.
Only your latest self review counts. Rating yourself again replaces your earlier rating in the average, although the earlier one still appears in the reviews list.
Nobody is notified when you rate yourself. If the new average reaches the skill's target level, you get a notification saying so.
The panel's subheading says "for this user" even when you're rating yourself. You're only changing your own rating.
