How Role play scores and feedback work in Guru

Understand more about Guru's ability to provide feedback after a Role play.

When a role-play ends, the Guru scores what you said as a percentage: 80% or more is strong, 50 to 79% is good with room to refine, and under 50% means there's more to work on.

How it works

When the role-play ends, you see a short summary and two options:

  • Get Feedback closes the role-play and adds your result to the chat: a score line, then What You Did Well and What You Can Improve, each with up to five points.

  • Try Again restarts the same scenario without scoring this attempt.

The wording before the percentage can vary, so go by the percentage. For example, if you offered an upset customer a refund but never apologised, you might score 50 to 79%, with something like "Acknowledge the customer's frustration earlier" under What You Can Improve.

What the score is based on

  • Only your replies count. You get no credit for the scenario or the How to Win points unless you acted on them in the conversation.

  • Ending too early means no score. If you type "end" before you've really engaged, the Guru says the role-play ended too soon to assess. Get Feedback then adds no result, and the Guru suggests trying the role-play again.

  • Feedback uses the language of your last message.

What happens next

After Get Feedback, the Guru suggests next steps, such as a deep dive on the area you found hardest or another role-play. Your result stays in your chat. To reread the conversation, select Review What You Did on the completed role-play.

Who uses it

Learners use the score to choose what to practise next. Creators run a role-play while testing a Guru to check the feedback is fair.
