Ask your organisation to fund a qualification such as a diploma or professional certificate. It needs the provider's invoice, and you'll be asked for proof once it ends.
Note: Have the provider's invoice ready as a file. You can't submit without it.
Send a Bursary request
Select your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then select Request learning.
Under Learning Type, choose Bursary/Qualification.
Enter the Qualification Name and the Learning Provider (the college, university or awarding body).
Choose the Start Date and End Date. HowNow asks for proof of completion on the end date, so use the date the qualification finishes.
Under Budget, choose the budget to pay from, then choose one or more of its owners under Send To.
Enter the Tuition Cost. Add Textbook Cost, Accommodation Cost, Travel Cost, Daily Allowance or Additional Cost if they apply. Total Cost adds them up for you.
Under Invoice Document, upload the provider's invoice. Submit Request stays unavailable until you do.
Optionally, upload your Confirmation of Registration and any other files under Supporting Documents, and add Additional Notes for your approver.
Select Submit Request.
Note: The owners you choose under Send To are notified as soon as you submit.
The request appears as Pending in My Profile › Budgets and Requests until an owner approves or declines it.
What happens after approval
The Total Cost comes off your budget balance and the request shows as Approved.
On the end date, the request moves to Not Completed and you're asked to upload proof, such as your certificate. If the end date has already passed when it's approved, this happens straight away.
Good to know
Files can be PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CSV, JPG or PNG, up to 10 MB each.
If costs go up after approval, for example a fee to resit the exam, you can ask for more budget.
