A seat is a place for one person in your workspace. Your plan sets how many seats you have, and each person you invite takes one, from the moment they're invited, not when they first sign in.
How seats are counted
Active and Invited people each use a seat.
Deleting someone frees their seat.
Deactivated people are still counted on the Seats in Use card, so deactivating someone may not free a seat for new invites.
Admins see usage on the Seats in Use card at the top of Manage › People: the number in use and how many are still available.
For example, with 50 seats, 42 Active people and 6 Invited people, you have 2 seats left. Deleting one of the Active people brings you to 3.
What happens when you run out
When no seats are left:
Invite People no longer appears on Manage › People.
CSV uploads are rejected. A CSV with more rows than free seats is also rejected before anyone is added, with a message such as "Your CSV contains 12 users, but only 5 seats are available."
People signing up through an invite link see "Sorry, there are no available seats. Please contact your Admin to add more seats."
Reactivating several people stops at the limit: some are reactivated and the rest are skipped.
Getting more seats
If Manage appears on the Seats in Use card, you can buy seats yourself, 10 to 1,000 at a time. If it doesn't, contact your HowNow representative. Deleting people who have left also frees seats.
