Delete a Budget

Delete a budget you no longer need, for example one set up for a project that has ended. Deleting it cancels any requests still waiting for approval.

Before you start

  • You need Admin access, or Manager access as an owner of the budget.

  • If you only want to stop some people using it, change its groups instead.

Delete a Budget

  1. In the sidebar, select Manage › Budgets.

  2. Open the budget's menu (three-dots) and select Delete. To delete several budgets, tick them and select Delete in the bar at the bottom of the page.

  3. Check you've picked the right budget, then select Yes, Delete.

Remember: You can't undo this. Every Pending request on the budget is cancelled straight away, and each requester gets an in-app notification asking them to raise a new request using a different budget.

You'll see 1 budget deleted., and the budget disappears from the list.

Good to know

  • Members lose the budget. It no longer appears when they request learning, and its balance is gone.

  • Requesters aren't emailed. The cancellation reaches them only as an in-app notification. Their request shows as Cancelled in their Budgets and Requests page.

  • History is kept. Requests already on the budget stay in people's request lists, with "(Deleted)" after the budget's name, for example "Pop-up Store Budget (Deleted)".

  • The confirmation doesn't warn you about pending requests. Before deleting, check who is waiting.
