We're always introducing new and exciting ways to learn on HowNow - so enter our new language options.

There are two ways to choose your preferred language - at both a platform level (the default language) and a user level! 🥳

On the web app

Choosing a default language at organisation level

Changing the default language will change the entire platform (minus content) to the chosen language. Only Admins will be able to make this change.

1. Visit your Dashboard

2. Select Settings

3. Choose the language from the Language Preferences drop-down menu

4. Select Save

Choosing languages at a User level

Anyone can change their preferred language, and this will supersede the default language, set at an organisation level. The User only needs to change their language once - after onboarding - for this to stick.

There are two preferences Users can manage, from their Profile > Settings tab...

Default Preferences

This is the language that the User wishes to see the entire platform in (labels, instructions). As mentioned above, it will supersede the default organisation level language.

It doesn't influence the language of any type of content, internal (created on HowNow) or external (3rd party content or content libraries).

Additional Preferences

The language(s) you wish to see content library courses in. For example:

Your Default Preference is English
Your Additional Preferences are French and Spanish.
Internal content, created in German, is assigned to you

You will still see the internal content in the German language, as it is original material created by the Author, in the Studio, so, it is not impacted by your preferences.

You now decide to open the content library page (e.g, LinkedIn Learning)

You will see English, as well as French and Spanish courses from the provider.

On the Mobile app

Click on the the 3-dot icon, to open your menu
Select the Settings option

3. On the Settings screen, select the Language field to choose from the given list.

4. Click Save to confirm your changes.
