Change the password you use to sign in to HowNow with your email address. If you've forgotten your current password, reset it from the sign-in page instead.
Before you start
You can only change your password in HowNow if you sign in with your email and a HowNow password. If you see Control where you're signed in at the top of Security and no Password section, your password is managed elsewhere. That happens when:
You signed in with single sign-on (SSO) or Google, or
Your account was created by your organisation's HR system or a file sync, or
Your workspace has turned off email and password sign-in.
In those cases, change your password with your organisation's sign-in provider, or ask your IT team.
Change your password
Select your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then select Settings.
Select Security, then select Change Password.
Enter your current password.
Select Continue. If the password is wrong, you'll see Incorrect password. Please try again.
In New password, enter a password of 8 to 128 characters.
Enter it again in Re-Enter Password.
Select Save Password.
Remember: Saving a new password signs you out of HowNow everywhere else, including other browsers and the mobile app. The browser you're using stays signed in.
You'll see Password updated, and Security shows when your password was last changed. Use the new password next time you sign in.
Good to know
If Save Password stays greyed out, check you've filled in both new password boxes. If you see Passwords do not match, retype them.
Only password length has a requirement. You can add any numbers, capitals or symbols you like.
