Learning needs to be effective and efficient for all users within your organisation, so what better way to check what they want and understand, than asking for direct feedback, in the form of Reviews?
Reviews keep content fresh and learning engaging, so, to start creating Reviews - as an Author - you must do the following…
While creating internal content, you will reach the Release and Deadline step. This will show the Reviews section, where you can switch the toggle button on:
For HowNow+ Courses, you’ll find this option in Step 2 | Settings.
Once turned on, and published, your content will now showcase a Review reminder, to all assigned Users (with specific requirements in place).
Note✨: Nuggets, Content Library Courses (Udemy, LinkedIn, etc.), Pathways and third-party content (articles, podcasts, etc.) don’t have Review options.
Users will be able to give direct feedback once they’ve completed 100% of the content. The exception being only Courses, where upon completing 25%, Users will have the opportunity to submit their Review.
The Leave a Review pop-up will show and your assigned Users will be able to choose from three ratings:
Very useful - this may be chosen if the learning aids with personal or professional development goals
It was okay - this may be chosen if parts of the learning were relevant to their role, while others may be for when they advance in their position.
Not useful - this may be chosen if the content was out-dated, or no longer relevant for their new role.
Upon submitting their Review, Users can update their Skills, to best reflect the new level of understanding they’ve gained, and get confirmation from their Manager (or the Author) that their enhanced knowledge is actually accurate.
Your Content insights will provide a home for your Users’ Reviews, by showcasing their ratings and answers, from within the Reviews column slide-out screen.
This will be a key way for you to keep track of what’s working right, and what can be changed.
Reviews will help you to do two important things:
Understand what keeps your Users engaged; from content types, to course structures, duration to tone. The feedback you receive from your content, will determine the improvements that will encourage learning and have your teams reach their long-term objectives.
Innovate with content creation; think outside the box, when it comes to creating new content and re-hashing existing materials. This will always keep content relevant and challenge your Users with new ways of learning. Receiving medium to low levels of feedback, undoubtedly will spear you on to test out new designs, learning principles and even ways to support your teams’ learning styles.
Note✨: the following points to remember include...
Duplicating content won’t copy over the Reviews (only the toggle button’s status will remain (on or off).
Deleting a Lesson or adding a new one, will automatically remove the Leave a Review option, as Users’ progress will be re-calculated, and likely to be less than 25%.
Users can only submit their Review for a content item, once. They cannot edit their Reviews once submitted.
If there are Users who had already completed a Course, before the Reviews toggle was switched on, they will receive a notification to leave a Review, if they re-open the content.
For Courses with Renewal Cycles/Expiry dates, Reviews can only be added once, and do not become available to the same User again when the content is re-completed.
Notifications are not sent to the content Author, if a User has submitted one. This is to prevent Authors from receiving multiple notifications, should a larger number of assigned Users complete the content, then submit their Reviews.
