Authors can ensure the right knowledge experts are marking the right content, with the use of the Markers option, when creating Assessments.

  1. Upon creating your Assessment, click the Settings button to open the Assessment Settings pop-up.

  2. Turn on the toggle button to Select specific markers for this assessment.

    • You will be able to add a maximum of 200 Markers at once.

    • Selecting the option Learners can choose who will mark their assessment from this list, will allow the assigned Users to select from one of the available names.

      • Proceeding without selecting this option will automatically notify the Marker set by the Author.

3. Select Save to confirm your choices. These will then be reflected on the User’s end, after completing their Open Answer or Multimedia Assessment.

The Assigned User’s View

Upon completing their Assessment, the User can click Save & Finish to activate the Select your marker for the assessment pop-up.

The drop-down list will provide all the names of the Admins, Managers or Contributors available to mark the test. The User won’t be able to amend their chosen Marker, once submitted.

Note: Do remember that…

  • The Author and Collaborator(s) can still by default, mark the Assessment even if they aren’t set as a Marker. Similarly, if a Marker is deactivated or deleted, the Author will become the default Marker.

  • If there are multiple Markers and the User fails to select a Marker upon submission, then all Markers will be notified.

Marker’s View & Dashboard insights

The Chosen Marker for an Assessment will receive two different notifications, for the following actions:

  • An email notification informing them that they have been made a Marker for an Assessment.

  • A web app notification once it’s been submitted by the User, and it’s ready to be marked.

Clicking the notification will take the Marker directly to the Assessment’s marking page.

Once marked, the details for the Assessments will update on the Assessment page.

The Markers column will indicate the number of Markers, and when clicked, will open the slide screen revealing the specific names.

Opening the Assessment sub-page will allow the Marked by column to show which specific User marked the chosen Assessment.

You can also apply the Marked by filter, which will show a drop-down list of the relevant Marker names.

Mobile

The experience on the HowNow mobile app, follows the same steps for assigned Users, as on the web app. Upon completing the Assessment, the option to choose a Marker will appear as a pop-up.
