Select Search in the sidebar or press Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on a Mac), then type at least two characters to find learning, Spaces, experts and files you can open.

One search finds learning, Spaces, colleagues with expertise in a topic, and files in apps you've connected. You only see results you're allowed to open.

Before you start

Experts only appear if your admin has turned on expert search, and Files only appear if you've connected an app such as Google Drive.

Search

  1. Select Search in the sidebar, or press Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on a Mac).

  2. Type at least two characters, such as "returns policy". Results appear as you type, grouped under Learning, Spaces, Experts and Files. Groups only appear when it has a match.

  3. To see more than the top three results in a group, select the Show [x] More under it. The other groups are hidden until you select Show Less.

  4. Select a result to open it. Selecting an expert opens their profile, which shows what they're an expert in and lets you contact them with Send Email or Copy Email.

Narrow your results

Filters under the search box narrow Learning results:

Search results with the Source filter open
  • Source: where results come from. Created by me shows learning you authored, and Shared with me shows learning assigned to you. Other options can include HowNow+, From the Web, content libraries your workspace has connected, such as LinkedIn Learning, and apps you've connected, such as Google Drive.

  • Duration, Type (Read, Watch, Listen or Attend) and Language.

  • Search in: choose Titles only to match titles rather than descriptions and lesson text.

To remove every filter but keep your search term, select Clear All next to the filters.

Note: Once you pick a Source, Duration, Type or Language filter, Spaces and Experts disappear, and Files only stays if you picked a connected app as the Source.

Titles only hides Experts and Files but keeps Spaces.

Good to know

  • Private content stays private. Learning that's hidden from search or limited to other people won't appear. Private Spaces only appear if you're a member.

  • Experts may be limited to people who share a group with you, depending on your workspace. You never appear in your own results.

  • Recent Searches: with the box empty, you'll see your last eight searches.

  • New content can take a moment to appear. See New content doesn't show up in search yet.
