Practise a role-play
In the Guru chat, ask to practise a situation, for example "Let me practise handling a complaint about a late delivery". If you're not sure what to practise, ask for ideas and the Guru suggests a few scenarios you can select.
If the Guru asks how long you'd like the role-play to be, choose one:
Quick challenge: about 5 minutes or less.
Focused practice: about 6 to 15 minutes.
Extended practice: more than 15 minutes.
If you ask for a specific situation straight away, the Guru may skip this question and pick a length for you.
Read the scenario card and its How to Win points, then select Get Started. Your feedback is marked against the How to Win points.
Reply in character. The role-play opens full-screen.
To finish, type "end", "stop" or "wrap up". The role-play also ends when the conversation reaches a natural conclusion. You'll see a short summary of how it went.
Select Get Feedback to see your score and feedback, or Try Again to start the scenario again. See How role-play scores and feedback work.
You'll see "Great work! You just completed the scenario." with your score in the chat. Select Review What You Did on it to look back over the conversation.
Good to know
It's always one-to-one. You play the active role, such as the manager. Group situations, like a team meeting, become a conversation with one person.
The Guru may step out of character briefly to give you a coaching tip, then carry on. Saying "I don't know" doesn't end the role-play.
You can pause. Close the role-play part-way through and you'll see "You have paused your scenario". Select Resume to carry on where you left off, or Restart to start again.
Voice isn't available during a role-play, so type your replies.
Scenarios are fresh each time. Any scenarios the creator added are used as inspiration, so details can differ.
