Test your Guru before publishing

S
Written by Sunil Sharma

The Preview chat in the Guru editor lets you try your Guru as a learner would, so you can fix its context, knowledge or style before anyone else sees it.

Before you start

  • Your Guru needs a Name and Context and Purpose. The chat stays disabled until both are saved.

  • Only the Guru's creator can use the preview.

Test your Guru

  1. Open your Guru in the editor. The chat marked Preview is on the right.

  2. Ask the kind of question your learners will ask, for example "A customer wants a refund without a receipt. What do I say?"

  3. Check that the answer uses your knowledge and stays on topic.

  4. Ask something outside the Guru's purpose and check that it declines.

  5. Ask for each activity learners can use: a quiz, a role-play (for example "Let's practise a refund conversation") and a skill review ("Can you review my skills?"). Each starts with a card or a choice, such as how long the role-play should last.

The Preview chat on the right of the Guru editor, offering role-play durations

  6. If something's wrong, change the context, knowledge, style or scenarios on the left, then ask again.

When you're happy with the answers, publish the Guru.

Good to know

  • Preview uses your latest draft, including knowledge, skills and style changes that aren't published yet. On a published Guru, learners keep the current version until you select Save Changes.

  • The preview chat starts again each time you reopen the editor, and after you change the context or skills, so it reflects your latest setup. Changing the coaching style doesn't restart it, so reload the editor to test a new style.

  • A skill review in preview doesn't change anyone's profile. Your own skill ratings stay as they are.

  • Preview conversations are private to you and aren't counted in the Guru's learner reports.
