Ask the AI Analyst about your team's learning

S
Written by Sunil Sharma

The AI Analyst answers plain-English questions about your team's learning, compliance and skills, so you don't have to work it out from each tab.

Before you start

  • You need at least one direct report, so that you have a Team page.

  • The Analyst is switched on by HowNow. If there's no question box at the top of your Team page, ask your admin to contact HowNow.

Ask a question

The AI Analyst box opened on the Team page, showing Suggestions and Recent Questions
  1. In the sidebar, select Manage › Team.

  2. Select the box that reads Analyse insights on learning, compliance, and Skills for this team. Suggestions and your Recent Questions appear below it.

  3. Select a suggestion, or type your own question, for example "Show the completion rate of assigned learning for each team member". You have up to 200 characters.

  4. Select Ask.

The answer appears in the box, with a heading and a short summary. Where the answer is a set of figures, it opens as a Graph; select Table to see the figures in rows.

To keep the figures, select the Export icon next to Table. You'll see Exporting CSV, and a download link is emailed to you when the file is ready.

If a question doesn't work

If you see "Oops! There was a problem processing that", rephrase the question and ask again. The message disappears after a few seconds, and questions that fail aren't kept in Recent Questions.

Good to know

  • There's an Ask box on each person's page too, and on a direct report's team opened from Indirect Reports. On a person's page, answers still cover your whole team, not just that person.

  • Large results can't be analysed. You'll see Dataset too large! and can download the raw data instead. The download is emailed to you as a link.

  • Recent Questions only keeps questions that got an answer.

  • Check before you act. AI answers can be wrong, so verify anything important on the Learning, Skills or Mandatory tab.
