The content type decides how people take your content and which settings you get. Every type starts from Create at the top of Manage › Content, or the + at the top of the sidebar.

The Create menu with Host a Session open, showing Event, Live Class and Webinar

How it works

Menu option

What you get

Use it for

Create a Nugget

A single page of learning, such as a short guide, a video or a file.

A quick how-to, like "Offering a Gift Receipt".

Create a Course › Start from Blank

Sections of lessons, with optional assessments.

Longer learning, like "Handling Customer Complaints".

Create a Course › Upload SCORM

A course from a SCORM package built in another authoring tool.

E-learning you already have.

Create a Course › Use Easygenerator

Opens Easygenerator, where you build the course instead of in HowNow.

Teams that already author in Easygenerator.

Create a Pathway

Existing content put in order as steps.

Onboarding or a learning journey.

Create a Guru

An AI assistant that answers questions and coaches people from the knowledge you give it.

On-the-job questions and practice.

Host a Session › Event

An in-person session at an address, with dates and times people book.

Workshops and store walkthroughs.

Host a Session › Live Class

A virtual class with bookable slots, run on HowNow Virtual, your own meeting link or, once it's connected, GoToWebinar.

Small, interactive group sessions.

Host a Session › Webinar

A virtual broadcast people book, run on HowNow Virtual or your own meeting link.

Talks and Q&As for a bigger audience.

Who can create content

You need Admin, Manager or Contributor access. Read Only users don't see Create or the + button.

Note: Create a Guru, Upload SCORM and Use Easygenerator only appear if they're switched on for your workspace. If one is missing, ask your admin.

Good to know

  • Each option opens its editor in a new browser tab, so keep Manage › Content open to get back to it.

  • Once anyone has booked a live class or webinar, you can't change how it's hosted.
