What Preview mode shows

Preview mode lets you check a content page the way learners see it, without anything counting as your own learning. A grey bar at the top says You are in Preview mode.

When you're in Preview mode

  • On the content page: you open a course or session page while you're an admin, or its author, collaborator or verifier, and it isn't assigned to you.

  • In the lessons: you select View Content from the row's ... menu in Manage › Content. The lessons open in a new tab in Preview mode; select Exit to leave.

What works and what doesn't

Everything learners see is shown, but anything that would record activity is switched off.

On the page

In Preview

Start Course

Shown but can't be used.

Like and bookmark

Shown empty and can't be used.

Book Webinar and other session booking

Opens the slot list so you can check dates and times, but you can't pick a time or select Confirm Booking.

Edit Course

Still works for authors and collaborators, so they can go straight to the editor. Verifiers don't see it.

For example, after building "Answering Customer Phone Calls", open it with View Content to read through each lesson before you assign it. Nothing you do there counts towards your own learning.

Good to know

  • Closing the banner with X only hides it. You're still in Preview until you leave the page.

  • To take the content as a learner, it needs to be assigned to you.

  • Pathways and Gurus have their own Preview.
