What's on a Course or session landing page

What can you find on a landing page?

A course, SCORM course, live class, webinar or event opens on a page with its description, what it covers, your progress and one main button to start, continue or book.

How it works

On the left, About This course describes it, and Skills You Will Gain lists the skills it builds, with the level for each. For a course, Content Covered lists every section, lesson and assessment with your status for each. A live class, webinar or event shows its session times instead, plus any Resources you can download.

The panel on the right has the main button and the key facts:

  • The main button changes with your progress: Start Course, then Continue Course, then Start Again once you've finished. For a live class, webinar or event it's a Book button instead. For paid content, it shows Pending budget approval while your budget request is waiting.

  • Verifier is the person responsible for checking it's still accurate.

  • Deadline and Overdue only show while you still need to finish. Once you've completed it, they disappear.

  • Mandatory means your organisation requires you to complete it.

  • + 2 more (or similar) next to Language means it's available in other languages.

  • Rewards shows how many badges or certificates are linked to it. Select it to see each one and whether you've achieved it.

For example, if your manager assigns you "Handling Customer Complaints" with a deadline, the panel shows that date until you've finished, then hides it.

If you see Marked as completed by above the lessons, a manager or admin marked it as complete for you.

Who can open it

  • Most people can open only content that's assigned to them. Anything else shows You don't have access to this page. See "You don't have access to this page" when I open content.

  • Admins, authors, collaborators and verifiers can open content they aren't assigned. It opens with You are in preview mode at the top: you can look around, but nothing is tracked, and the main button and the review box are switched off. See What preview mode shows.

  • Authors and collaborators also see a pencil button (Edit Course) next to the main button. Admins, authors, collaborators and verifiers can open View Content History under the key facts.

Nuggets, pathways and content from external providers open on their own pages, not this one.
