A course groups lessons into sections and can include assessments.
Before you start
You need Admin, Manager or Contributor access. Read Only users don't see the + (Create) button.
Step one: Course Information
Select + at the top of the sidebar, then Create a Course › Start from Blank. The course opens in a new tab.
Note: The course is saved as a draft straight away. If you close the tab, find it in Manage › Content under Drafts.
Replace Course Name with your course's name (up to 80 characters). If you leave it, the course is called "Course Name".
Add a Short Description (up to 150 characters). It appears on the course card.
Select the pencil on Thumbnail, then Update, to add the card image.
Check Verifier and Verification interval. By default the verifier is reminded to review the course every month, so choose a longer interval for content that rarely changes.
Optionally add Skills Developed (up to 10), Collaborators who can edit with you, and a Cost Per Learner. Extra fields your workspace has set up are under Additional Fields.
Select Save & Continue.
Step two: Course Editor
Hover over the + under the header and select Add Section, Add Lesson or Add Assessment.
In each lesson, select Edit next to its name to rename it, add your content, then select Return to Course Editor.
Select Save & Continue.
Steps three and four: learners and release
In Assign Learners, add people or groups. You can't publish until you add someone.
Remember❗: If Send an e-mail notification to all assigned users is ticked, everyone you assign gets an email when you publish.
Select Save & Continue.
In Release & Deadline, choose Content Visibility, Course Availability (Immediately or Later) and a Course Deadline. Turn on Mark as Mandatory if learners must complete it.
Select Save & Publish.
The course goes live for the people you assigned (or on the date you chose under Later) and appears in Manage › Content.
Good to know
Assigning works as a rule: people who later join an assigned group get the course too.
Save Draft works from any step and takes you back to Manage › Content.
