See which Budgets a Group can use

S
Written by Sunil Sharma

When a budget is linked to a group, its members can use it to request paid learning. The group's page shows which budgets those are and how much the members have left.

Before you start

  • You need Admin access, or Manager access to the group.

  • Learning budgets must be switched on for your workspace. HowNow turns this on. If you don't see Budgets under Manage, contact your HowNow account manager.

See a group's budgets

  1. In the sidebar, select Manage › Groups and open the group.

  2. Look at Budgets, under the group's description. It lists each linked budget, or No budgets.

  3. Select the budget names to open the Budgets panel.

  4. To see who manages a budget, select its owner count, for example 2 owners.

How to read the amounts

Each budget shows how much is left for this group's members, out of the total. The total is the budget's amount per person multiplied by the number of members who have it.

For example: if a budget gives each person GBP 500 and two members have it, the total is GBP 1,000. If one of them has used GBP 400, the panel shows GBP 600 left of the GBP 1,000 total (60%).

Large amounts are shortened, for example GBP 2k of 2k. Deactivated members aren't counted.

Good to know

  • You can't link or unlink budgets here.

  • Membership decides who can use a budget. People you add to the group can use its budgets. People you remove lose them, unless another of their groups is linked to the same budget.
