Delete a skill you no longer need from your skill library. To take a skill away from some people only, remove it from those people instead.
Before you start
You need Admin access.
You can only remove skills your workspace created. Skills from the HowNow skill library can't be removed.
To keep a record, export your skills list first.
Remove one skill
In the sidebar, select Manage › Skills.
Hover over the skill's name and select ⋯ › Remove Skill.
Select Delete.
Remember:
You can't undo this. Everyone who has the skill loses it, along with their levels and reviews, and it's unmapped from every job role and piece of learning.
Anyone who asked for a review of the skill that hasn't been given yet gets a notification that their request was cancelled because the skill was removed from the workspace. The creator of any published Guru that uses the skill gets an email.
You see "has been removed.", and the skill disappears from the list.
Remove several skills
On Manage › Skills, tick the skills you want to remove.
In the bar at the bottom, select Remove Skills.
If some of the skills can't be removed, HowNow tells you how many and why, for example "1 Skill belongs to HowNow Library". Select Yes, Proceed to carry on with the rest.
Select Yes, Remove.
If none of the selected skills can be removed, you see Can't Remove Skills instead. Select Got It and change your selection.
