The skills you add tell the Guru what learners are working towards. They shape its coaching, the role-plays it suggests and the skill review it offers learners.
Before you start
You need a Guru with a Name and Context and Purpose filled in.
Only the Guru's creator can change its skills.
Add skills
Open your Guru in the editor. For a published Guru, expand Gurus in the sidebar, select it, then select ⋮ › Edit Guru.
Select the Skills Developed field (Add up to 10 Skills).
Type part of a skill name and select it from the list. Repeat for each skill, up to 10.
Optional: under Suggested Skills, select + on a suggestion to add it, or Add All to add every suggestion shown (up to four). Each suggestion you add is replaced with a new one. Select the refresh icon for a different set.
Select anywhere outside the field to save your skills to the editor.
Note: On a published Guru, new skills only reach learners when you select Save Changes. If you refresh or leave the editor first, they're lost.
Your skills appear as tags in Skills Developed. At 10 skills you can't type in the field, and the suggestions are greyed out until you remove a skill with the x on its tag.
Good to know
Skills come from your workspace's skills library. You can't create a new skill here; ask an admin to add it to the library first.
Suggestions are based on your Context and Purpose. They only appear once the context is saved, and they change when you edit it.
Pick skills learners can practise. For a complaints Guru, "Active Listening" and "Conflict Resolution" give the Guru more to work with than a broad skill like "Communication".
Learners can rate themselves against these skills in a Guru skill review, and their ratings go on their profile.
If an admin deletes one of your Guru's skills from the library, you get an email and an in-app notification so you can choose a replacement.
