Duplicating gives you a copy to adapt without changing the original, for example a version of a course for a different store format.
Before you start
You can duplicate content you're the author, a collaborator or the verifier of. Admins can't duplicate other people's content unless they're on it.
Duplicate isn't available for pathways, SCORM courses, HowNow+ content or content from connected libraries.
Duplicate content
In the sidebar, select Manage › Content and find the item.
Select ... at the end of its row, then More › Duplicate.
Warning
The original's collaborators are added to the copy straight away and are told they've been made collaborators.
The copy opens in the editor in a new tab, called Copy of followed by the original name. You're its author. Rename it in Course Name and make your changes.
When it's ready, publish it. See Publish or schedule content.
The copy appears at the top of Manage › Content as a Draft until you publish it.
What's copied
Copied | Not copied |
Lessons, description, thumbnail, skills and language | Learners, assignments and progress |
Collaborators, verifier and verification interval | Reviews and rewards |
Content Visibility and Mark as Mandatory | Cost Per Learner, which goes back to 0 |
Course resources | Publish status: the copy is always a draft |
Good to know
The original's history records that it was duplicated, and by whom. See View and export a content item's change history.
A nugget's copy opens in the nugget editor.
