Start and complete a pathway

Understand how best to navigate through a Pathway, from beginning to end.

A Pathway is a sequence of Courses, Nuggets and Sessions, sometimes grouped into sections, that you complete as one programme, such as onboarding.

Open each step from the pathway page, finish it, then refresh the pathway: it's complete when every content step is done.

Before you start

The pathway must be assigned to you. Find it in Learn › Assigned Learning, where its card shows your progress, or open the link in your assignment email.

Work through a pathway

  1. Open the pathway. Any deadline is shown above the title, and the ring on the left shows your progress.

A pathway page at 50%, with the second step ticked and the first still to do

  2. Select the first step. It opens in a new browser tab, so the pathway stays open in the first tab.

Note: If a step has a padlock, finish the steps above it first.

  3. Complete the step as you normally would, for example by finishing the course or nugget, or opening the article.

  4. Go back to the pathway tab and refresh the page. The step now has a tick beside it, and your progress goes up.

  5. If the next step is a badge or certificate, select Claim to collect it.

  6. Repeat for each remaining step.

When every content step is done, the pathway shows 100% and is complete. Sections and rewards don't count towards your progress: a pathway with one article and two rewards, reaches 100% as soon as you've opened the article.

Good to know

  • Progress counts wherever you finish the content. If you complete a course from Search, or completed it before the pathway was assigned, its step is ticked off for you.

  • Web articles count as done once you've opened them.

  • Steps added later show New Step, and a pathway you'd finished goes back to in progress until you complete them.

  • Steps you can't access may stop you reaching 100%. Ask your admin for access to that content.
