In a pathway, a reward is a step, and where you put it decides when learners earn it.
Before you start
You need to be the pathway's author or a collaborator. Admins who aren't collaborators can't edit the pathway.
Decide where it goes
Where you put the reward | When learners earn it |
Before all the content | When they first open the pathway |
Between steps | When everything above it is complete (a milestone) |
After all the content | When they complete the pathway |
For example, put a badge after the first section and a certificate at the very end.
Add the reward
Open the pathway in the editor.
Select Add Step in the section where the reward should go.
Choose Add Rewards.
Choose Badge or Certificate, then select Add Details.
Fill in the details:
Badge: a Badge Name (up to 50 characters) and a Description (up to 300). Under Add Badge Design, choose a template or Upload New.
Certificate: a Certificate Name (up to 100 characters), a template, a Certificate Title and a Signatory Name (up to 50 characters each), and a signature under Upload Signature (PNG or JPG, up to 25 MB).
Select Add Badge (or Add Certificate).
The reward is added as a step in the pathway, in the position you chose.
Warning
Once the pathway has been published, the design, template, title, signatory and signature are locked, even if you unpublish it later. Only a badge's name and description, or a certificate's name, can change. See I can't change my badge or certificate.
Credly badges
If your workspace has connected Credly, choose Credly Badge in Add Rewards and select one of your Credly badge templates. Credly emails learners to accept the badge. See Connect Credly to import your digital badges.
Good to know
Learners get the reward when they next open the pathway after meeting the condition. See Claim a badge or certificate in a pathway.
Rewards count towards the pathway's 100-step limit.
Pathway rewards can't be given to people manually.
