Assign learning to a group

How to get the right content to your Group, right away.

Assigning to a group gives the learning to everyone in it now, and to anyone who joins later. Use it to keep a team, department or cohort up to date without assigning people one by one.

Before you start

  • You need Admin access, or Manager access and to manage the group.

  • Managers and Contributors only see content they created or collaborate on, or content assigned to them with Redistribution turned on. Admins see all published content.

Assign to one group

  1. In the sidebar, select Manage › Groups and open the group.

  2. Select Assign Learning.

  3. Select up to 10 items. Items marked Already added are already assigned to this group.

Note: For Everyone, the group that includes your whole workspace, you can assign only 1 item at a time.

  4. Select Assign Learning. The confirmation tells you how many current members will get it.

Remember❗: Members who have signed in before are notified straight away, and emailed if the content's email setting is on.

  5. Select Assign.

The Assign Learning to the Selected Group? confirmation for Returns Desk Team

You'll see "Assigning 1 learning item to Returns Desk Team. We'll email you when it's done." The item then appears under the group's Assigned Learning.

Assign to several groups

  1. In Manage › Groups, select the groups.

  2. Select Assign Learning in the bar that appears.

  3. Select up to 10 items, select Assign Learning, then select Assign.

You'll see a message that the learning is being assigned, and you'll get an email when it's done. The items then appear under each group's Assigned Learning.

Good to know

  • The group becomes a rule on the content. It shows as "Group is ..." in the content's Assign Learners panel, and people who leave the group are unassigned.

  • Due dates and mandatory status come from each item's own settings. You can't set them here.
