INTERNAL — requires review

This draft has claims that haven't been checked in the live platform. Check the yellow notes before publishing.

If you're the verifier for a course, nugget or pathway, HowNow asks you to confirm it's still accurate once every verification interval.

Before you start

  • Only the person named as Verifier on the content can verify it. Admins, the author and collaborators can't do it for them.

  • The option appears from a week before the verification due date, and only while the content is published.

Verify from your Inbox

A week before verification is due, you get a notification.

  1. Select the notification, or select Inbox in the sidebar and open the task. Verification tasks are labelled Verification.

  2. Select View Content to check it. If something needs updating first, select Edit in Studio (authors and collaborators only).

  3. Select Verify Content, then Verify to confirm.

You'll see Content verified — moved to History. The task moves to the History tab, and the next review is due one verification interval from today.

Needs review (internal)

Not checked live (re-checked 2026-10-14): no content was due for verification for any test account, and a task can't be created on demand (it appears a week before the due date; the shortest interval is 1 month). Still to check: the notification wording, the Inbox task layout and labels, Verify Content in the row menu with its confirmation, and the toast. Seen live: the row menu has no Verify Content while an item isn't due, and bulk Verify Content reports such items as failed. The demo nugget Wrapping Gifts at the Till (verifier Admin User) should be due around 2026-11-07.

Verify from your content list

  1. In the sidebar, select Manage › Content and search for the item.

  2. Select ... at the end of its row, then Verify Content.

  3. Select Verify to confirm. You'll see a message that the item has been marked as verified, and its Verification Status changes to Verified.

To verify several items at once, tick them, then select More Actions › Verify Content in the bulk actions bar. It runs in the background and you get a notification with the result. Items that aren't due yet count as failed.

If the content is out of date

From the Inbox task, select More Actions, then one of these:

  • Unpublish hides the content from learners. Their progress is kept.

  • Delete Content removes it from everyone's assignments. Progress stays in reports. Only the author, collaborators and Admins can delete.

Warning

Both affect everyone the content is assigned to.
