Choose who can use your Guru by assigning people or groups. Assignment works by rules, so it stays up to date as group membership changes.
Before you start
Only the Guru's creator can assign users/learners.
To change who's assigned to a published Guru, open it and select ⋮ › Edit Guru first.
Assign people or groups
In the Guru editor, select the add-people icon at the top right, next to Create (or Save Changes). Assign to N Users opens, showing the rules you already have, including one for you as the creator.
Select Share with people or Groups, choose User or Group, then type a name and select it. Each choice is added as a rule straight away, for example "Learner is Anil Patel". Rules are joined with OR, so anyone who matches any rule gets the Guru.
Optional: select Add Custom Rule at the bottom of the list to assign by other details, then select Done.
Check the count in "N users are in your audience right now" matches who you expect. To take someone off, select the x on their rule.
Optional: turn on Send an email notification to all assigned users (off by default).
Note: If you save with the email off, people assigned now won't be emailed if you turn it on later.
Select Save.
On a draft, the Guru reaches these people when you publish. On a published Guru, the change only takes effect when you select Save Changes at the top of the editor.
Good to know
Rules stay live. People who start matching a rule (for example, by joining a group) are assigned automatically and notified. People who stop matching lose access.
You're always included and are never notified about your own Guru.
Emails go only to people who allow email notifications.
Each person is notified once, unless they're removed and later assigned again.
