Publish a Guru

Written by Sunil Sharma

Publishing makes your Guru live for the people you've assigned it to. Until then, it's a draft that only you can see.

Before you start

  • Your Guru needs a Name and Context and Purpose. Skills, knowledge, a coaching style and role-plays are optional.

  • Your workspace's plan sets how many Gurus can be published at once.

Publish your Guru

  1. Open your draft Guru in the editor.

  2. Select Create at the top right.

Note: If Create is greyed out, hover over it to see why. "Name and context required" means a required field is empty or not saved yet. "Guru limit reached. Upgrade for more." means your workspace can't publish more Gurus.

  3. If you haven't assigned anyone yet, Publish Without Assigning Learners? appears:

The Publish Without Assigning Learners? dialog with Skip for now and Assign Learners

    • Select Assign Learners to choose people or groups now, then select Save & Publish (or Publish Anyways to publish without saving them). The Send an email notification to all assigned users switch is off by default.

    • Select Skip for now to publish it just for yourself and assign people later.

  4. Note: Publishing notifies people. Each assigned learner gets an in-app notification (and an email if you turned it on), and Admins get "A new Guru has been published".

  5. Wait a few seconds while the Guru is set up. When you see All set! Meet [name] Guru, you're taken to the live Guru's chat page.

Your Guru now appears under Gurus in your sidebar and in the sidebar of everyone assigned.

Good to know

  • You're always assigned to your own Guru, so you can open it from your sidebar.

  • Learners are added in the background, so it can take a few minutes before everyone sees the Guru.

  • To change a published Guru, use Edit Guru. Learners keep the current version until you select Save Changes.
