Add your own skill to your workspace's skill library so you can give it to people, add it to job roles and map it to learning.
Before you start
You need Admin access. Skills doesn't appear under Manage for other access levels.
If Create Skill is missing, your skill library is managed outside HowNow, for example synced from your HR system, or skills are locked for your workspace.
Create the skill
In the sidebar, select Manage › Skills.
Select Create Skill.
In Skill Name, enter a name people will recognise, for example "Returns and Exchanges Handling". Names can be up to 191 characters.
Optionally, add a Description (up to 250 characters) so people know what the skill covers, for example "Processing returns and exchanges in line with store policy".
Select Create Skill.
You see "has been added", and the skill appears in the Skills list with No People and No Job Role.
Good to know
Skill names must be unique in your workspace, whatever the capitals. If "Store Opening Procedures" exists, "store opening procedures" is rejected with "Name has already been taken".
A new skill isn't given to anyone. Assign it to people or map it to a job role next.
Adding lots of skills? Import them from a CSV file using Import via CSV at the top of the same panel.
