Edit a skill's name or description

Before you start

  • You need Admin access.

  • You can only edit skills your workspace created. Skills from the HowNow skill library have no ⋯ menu.

  • If none of your skills have a ⋯ menu, your skill library is managed outside HowNow.

Edit the skill

  1. In the sidebar, select Manage › Skills.

  2. Hover over the skill's name and select ⋯ › Edit Skill.

  3. Change the Skill Name or Description.

  4. Select Update Skill.

You see "has been updated.", and the list shows the new details.

You can also select Edit Skill at the top of the skill's own page.

Good to know

  • People who have the skill, job roles and learning mapped to it all show the new name. Levels and reviews aren't affected, and nobody is notified.

  • The same rules apply as when you create a skill: names must be unique whatever the capitals, up to 191 characters, and descriptions can be up to 250.
