Take a skill off people's profiles, for example when you assigned it to the wrong person or it no longer applies to them.
Before you start
You need Admin access.
Skills that come from someone's current job role or target role can't be removed here.
Remove the skill
In the sidebar, select Manage › Skills, then select the skill's name. The skill opens in a new browser tab.
Under People, select View All People.
Tick each person you want to remove, then select Remove User in the bar at the bottom of the page.
For one person, you can instead select ⋯ on their row, then More › Remove User.
Select Remove to confirm.
Remember: This can't be undone. The person's progress on the skill, including its level, is lost, and each person gets an in-app notification saying their skill list has been updated by you.
You'll see a confirmation message, and the people no longer appear in the list. The skill is gone from their Grow page.
If some people can't be removed
If your selection includes people who have the skill from their job role, you'll see Remove People with the reason for each group, for example "4 people have this Skill assigned via job role". Select Got It, untick those people and try again. On a single row, Remove User doesn't appear under More at all.
Good to know
If you assign the skill again later, the person starts from no rating.
