Let AI suggest the skills a job role needs, and a target level for each, based on the role. It's quickest for new roles with no skills yet.
Before you start
You need Admin access.
If Map Skills with AI is missing, AI skill mapping isn't switched on for your workspace, or your roles are managed outside HowNow. Ask your HowNow contact.
For one role
In the sidebar, select Manage › Roles.
Hover over the role, select ⋯, then Map Skills. You can also select Map Skills at the top of the Add Role panel while you're adding a role.
Select Map Skills with AI. After a few seconds the suggested skills are ticked, each marked with a sparkle icon and given a Target Level. Skills you'd already ticked stay ticked.
Select [number] Skills selected to review the list. Untick anything that doesn't fit, change levels, and add any skills AI missed.
Select Map Skills. Nothing is saved until you do.
The skills appear on the role's page, marked Mapped by AI.
For multiple roles at once
In Manage › Roles, tick the roles, then select Map Skills in the bar at the bottom.
Select Map Skills with AI.
Select Yes, Proceed.
Note: If you'd already ticked skills by hand, they're cleared. Select Keep Manual Selection instead to go back without losing them.
You'll see Mapping in Progress. AI maps each role in the background and emails you when it's finished. There's no review step, so check each role's skills afterwards.
Good to know
AI only adds. It keeps the skills a role already has and never goes over the 30-skill limit. Roles already at the limit are skipped.
Check the results on the role's Skills page and adjust them.
