Change Target Levels or remove skills from a Job Role

Written by Sunil Sharma

Change the level people in a job role should reach in a skill, or stop requiring a skill for that role.

Before you start

You need Admin access.

From the role

  1. In the sidebar, select Manage › Roles and select the role's name. It opens in a new tab.

  2. Under Skills, select View All Skills.

  3. Hover over the skill, select ⋯, then choose one of these:

    • Update Target Level: choose a level from 1 to 5, then select Update Target Level.

    • Remove from Role: select Yes, Remove. The skill stays in your workspace.

Note: Changes reach everyone in the role in the background, without an email. Removing a skill takes it off the profile of anyone who never rated it or was reviewed on it.

The list updates straight away.

The Update Target Level panel with level 3 selected for Cleaning Procedure Adherence

To remove several skills at once, tick them and select Remove from Role in the bar at the bottom.

From the skill

Use this to change one skill across several roles.

  1. In the sidebar, select Manage › Skills and open the skill.

  2. Select the Job Roles tab.

  3. Hover over a role, select ⋯, then Update Target Level or Remove Job Role, and confirm.

The change shows on the Job Roles tab and reaches everyone in that role, in the same way.

Good to know

  • Skills mapped by AI keep their Mapped by AI label after you change their level.

  • People who rated a removed skill, or were reviewed on it, keep it on their profile.

  • To change several target levels, update each skill in turn; the bar at the bottom only removes skills.
