Choose which websites, blogs and channels bring their articles and videos into your workspace's search. Connecting or disconnecting a source affects everyone in the workspace.

Before you start

  • You need Admin access. Other access levels don't see the From the Web tab.

  • If From the Web isn't in Apps, it isn't turned on for your workspace. Contact your HowNow customer success manager.

Connect or disconnect one source

  1. In the sidebar, select Apps, then the From the Web tab.

  2. Find the source under Not Connected, or select a category under Categories to see only its sources.

  3. Optional: select the source's card, then Go to followed by its name, to see its website before you connect it.

  4. Turn on the toggle on the source's card.

The source moves to Connected and a message confirms it's connected. Its new articles start appearing in search for everyone.

To disconnect a source, turn off its toggle under Connected. It moves back to Not Connected and its articles stop appearing in search.

Connect or disconnect a whole category

  1. In Apps › From the Web, under Categories, select a category such as Customer Success.

  2. In the banner at the top, turn on the toggle. Its label says what it will do, such as Connect all 8 sources or, if some are already connected, Connect 2 remaining sources.

Every source in the category moves to Connected and the banner reads All sources connected.

Remember: Turning off the banner toggle disconnects every source in the category straight away, including any you connected one by one. There's no confirmation step.

Good to know

  • New articles aren't instant. HowNow fetches them in the background.

  • If a change doesn't save, you see "We couldn't update that source. Please try again." and the toggle switches back.
