It's as easy as pie to see all the Skills that your team members have 🥧, and manage them to enhance both their own development, and that of your departments. With the Skills page you will be privy to the following crucial insights.
Go to Dashboard > Skills. At the top of the page, there are four summary cards representing:
Skills The total number of Skills added across your workspace. | Review Skills The total number of Skills Reviews given. | Average Skills per User on your workspace. | Expert Skills The no. of Skills, across your workspace, held by Users that are a Level of 3 or above. |
Note✨: Points to remember here include:
*Managers will only see the total number across Users in their Groups, and not the entire organisation (so these will vary compared to Admins).
The primary Skills summary card will give you the total number of unique Skills across your organisation, therefore will always be the card with the highest value. The Competent Skills summary card represents the number of unique Skills with Level 3, 4 or 5 ratings, so will never be more than that primary Skills summary card.
The number of Skills Reviews includes Reviews given for the same Skill by multiple Users. For example, let's imagine:
Review Skills summary shows "10 Review Skills".
Each of those Reviews have been made by User A.
User B decides to add their Reviews to the same Skills.
The summary card would now show "20 Review Skills".
Adding custom Skills:
1. Select the Add Skill button, to open the pop-up.
You can add one or multiple Skills at a time, to your workspace Skills library. Each time you add Skills, they'll become available as part of your Skills library, for all Users to add to their Skills profile, if desired.
Managing custom Skills:
From your list of Skills, there will be two significant columns: the Focused Skill column and Average Skill Level. Instantly, these numbers represent how well your team members know a subject matter.
Focused Skill - the number of Users who have currently chosen to learn more content based on this Skill (as it's a priority to improve).
Average Skill Level - an average that demonstrate the level of expertise across your organisation, for that Skill. The Users column shows the number of people who have the Skill. If you click on the three dots next to an individual Skill, you can...
Edit - the name of the Skill
Delete - the Skill permanently from your workspace. You won't be able to delete any default HowNow Skills, e.g., "Account Management".
Selecting multiple Skills, will allow you to complete a Bulk Delete.
Export a full list of all your Skills or use our Filters and Columns to drill down into the data you want - often useful for targeting your organisation-wide or team-based objectives, such as Job Roles and/or Skill Level.
You can also filter by Groups to quickly identify which departments within your organisation have the key Experts needed to create fresh content, and help support your team members with their individual and team learning goals.
The Groups option is also found within the data table, where clicking the "+more" value will open a slide-out screen showing the full list of Groups that have members with said Skill.
Deep dive into an individual Skill:
Via a Skill's sub-page, you'll be able to see the rating for each individual User who holds that Skill. The data table will also show when it was last updated, and whether it has been endorsed by a Manager.
Note✨: As a Manager or Admin you can Review team members' Skills from the Skills sub-page, without needing to be sent a Review Request. Find out more in our article: How to Review your team member's Skills.
Export a full list of all your Users with this Skill or use our Filters and Columns selector to drill down into the data you want like, customising your reports, to see only the data you need.
Note✨ : To enhance loading times across your organisation's learning space - giving you a greater user experience - we have removed the sorting option on a select few columns.
