Lessons and nuggets are built from items, such as a block of text, a PDF or an embedded form, and you can mix as many as you need.
Before you start
You need to be the author or a collaborator on the course or nugget. If it's already published, new items are visible to learners straight away.
Add an item
Open the nugget, or open the course's Course Editor and select a lesson.
Find the row of icons next to the + below the content. Hover over an icon to see its name.
Select the item type and fill it in:
Text: type in the box. It saves when you click away.
Image: on the Upload tab, choose a picture up to 12 MB, or paste its web address under Source on the General tab. Add an Alternative description so screen reader users know what it shows, then select Save.
Video or Audio
Embed Code: paste the embed code from another tool, then select Save.
File: drop a document, spreadsheet, presentation, PDF or zip (up to 200 MB) onto the box. PDFs show in a viewer on the page.
Existing Content: search for other HowNow content, or pick from Content Created By You, and select Add. Learners see it as a card they can open.
Note: The File window has no close button. If you open it by mistake, refresh the page to close it.
4. The item appears at the end of the lesson. To move an item, drag it by its move icon.
Embed a form or slide deck
Google Forms, Google Slides, Microsoft Forms and PowerPoint for the web offer embed code in their share menus. Copy it (it starts with <iframe) and paste it into an Embed Code item. To control the size, tick Provide a custom height for viewing? and enter a height between 100 and 4096 pixels (500 to start with).
Note: Share the form or deck publicly, or with everyone in your organisation. Otherwise learners see a sign-in or "no access" message instead.
Good to know
Link is only offered on an empty nugget, and courses don't have it.
To delete an item, select its bin icon and type Delete to confirm.
