Add a video or audio clip to a lesson or nugget, either by linking to YouTube or Vimeo or by uploading your own file.

Before you start

You need to be the author or a collaborator on the course or nugget.

Add a video

  1. Open the lesson or nugget and select the Video icon in the row below the content.

  2. Choose how to add it:

    • Link: paste a YouTube or Vimeo address into Video URL (Youtube/Vimeo) and select Save.

    • File: drop the file onto the box, or select Upload a video and choose it.

The Add Video window with the box for uploading a video file highlighted

  3. If you uploaded a file, wait while Video is processing... shows. You don't need to press anything.

Note: Keep the tab open until the page reloads. Closing it while the file is uploading stops the upload.

When processing finishes, the page reloads and the video player appears at the end of the lesson.

Add audio

  1. Select the Audio icon.

  2. Drop an MP3, OGG or WAV file onto the box, or select Upload an audio file.

  3. Wait while Audio is processing... shows. The page reloads with the audio player at the end of the lesson. A short clip takes a few seconds.

Which files work

  • Video: most common formats, including MP4, MOV, M4V, WEBM, MKV, AVI, WMV and MPEG.

  • Audio: MP3, OGG and WAV only.

Good to know

  • Longer files take longer to process.

  • If the course or nugget is already published, learners see the new video or audio as soon as it's processed.
