Publish or schedule content

S
Written by Sunil Sharma

Publish a course, SCORM course, session or nugget to make it live for the people you've assigned it to, or schedule it to go live later, such as on the first day of a campaign.

Before you start

  • You need to be the content's author or a collaborator.

  • Assign people or groups on Assign Learners, then select Save & Continue. Selecting Apply alone doesn't save them. You can publish with no one assigned, but then no one gets the content.

Publish now

  1. In Manage › Content, open the item's ... menu, select Edit, then select Release & Deadline.

  2. Leave Course Availability set to Immediately.

  3. Select Save & Publish.

You'll see Congratulations! and the content is live for the people you assigned. In Manage › Content its status is Published.

Schedule for later

  1. In the course editor, go to Release & Deadline.

  2. Set Course Availability to Later and pick the date.

  3. Select Save & Publish. You'll see "Your Course will be published on" and the date.

The confirmation after scheduling a course, showing the date it will be published

In Manage › Content, the content shows as Scheduled. Assigned learners can't open it, even with a link, until the release date, when it goes live by itself.

Schedule a Nugget

  1. In the nugget editor, select Settings.

  2. Pick a date in Set Release Date (Optional).

  3. Select Publish. You'll see "Your Nugget will be published on" and the date, and the nugget shows as Scheduled.

Change or cancel a schedule

You can change the date until the content goes live. Scheduled content has no Unpublish option, so to cancel:

  1. Open it in the editor and go to Release & Deadline.

  2. Set Course Availability to Immediately.

  3. Select Save Draft. The content goes back to Draft.

Note: Selecting Save Draft while Later and a date are still set keeps the content scheduled.

To publish a scheduled item early, set Course Availability to Immediately and select Save & Publish.
