Create a Pathway

Written by Sunil Sharma

A pathway takes learners through several pieces of learning in the order you choose.

Before you start

You need Admin, Manager or Contributor access. Read Only users don't see the + (Create) button.

Create the pathway

  1. Select + at the top of the sidebar, then Create a Pathway. The editor opens in a new tab.

Note: The pathway is saved as a draft as soon as the editor opens. If you close the tab, find it in Manage › Content under Drafts.

  2. Delete the words Pathway Name and type your pathway's name (up to 150 characters). They're real text, not a hint.

  3. Select Short Description and add a line about who the pathway is for (up to 500 characters).

  4. Select Add Cover, then From Unsplash, search for a photo (for example "retail store checkout"), select one and select Upload. To use your own PNG or JPEG, choose Upload instead.

  5. To group steps into stages such as "Week 1" and "Week 2", select New Section.

  6. Select My Content, search for each item and select + next to it.

  7. Select Done.

Everything saves as you go. The pathway shows your cover, name and description, with the number of steps and the total time underneath. It stays a draft until you add learners and publish it.

Good to know

  • Where steps can come from: My Content (content you created, collaborate on, or were assigned with sharing allowed), From the Web, HowNow+ and My Integrations. Create with AI suggests a whole structure for you.

  • My Content leaves out anything set to Only with Link. Change the item's visibility if you need it in a pathway.

  • Publish stays greyed out until the pathway has at least one learner. Add them with the Add Learners and Creators icon at the top of the editor.

  • Only you and the collaborators you add on the Creators tab can edit the pathway.
