Apps is the sidebar page where you bring outside content and tools into your workspace: ready-made courses, articles from the web, and the personal apps people can connect.
How it works
Apps has three tabs. Which ones you see depends on your access level.
Tab | What it's for | Who sees it |
HowNow Plus | Ready-made courses from HowNow's content partners, which you can preview and import. | Admins and Managers |
From the Web | Websites, blogs and channels that HowNow can pull new articles and videos from. | Admins |
Connectors | The personal apps, such as Google Drive, Dropbox and Slack, that people can connect. Admins turn each one on or off for the whole workspace. | Admins |
Apps opens on HowNow Plus. If you're a Manager and open a link to From the Web or Connectors, you land on HowNow Plus instead.
Search covers every tab at once. Select the search icon and type at least two characters.
Each tab then shows how many matches it has, so you can tell whether what you're after is a course, a web source or a connector.
For example: searching "Slack" can find Slack courses in HowNow Plus and the Slack app in Connectors.
Who uses it
Admins use all three tabs to add content and decide which apps people can connect.
Managers use HowNow Plus to find and import courses for their teams.
Contributors and Read Only members don't see Apps, and a link to it shows "You don't have access to this page". Everyone connects their own tools in Settings › Your Apps, whatever their Access Level.
