A Credly badge is a verified digital badge from your organisation's Credly account. People earn it by completing a course or pathway in HowNow, then share it on LinkedIn and other sites.
How it works
An Admin connects Credly. HowNow imports your organisation's active badge templates. See Connect Credly to import your digital badges.
A creator adds a Credly badge as a reward on a course or pathway, in the same place as HowNow badges and certificates.
Someone earns it. HowNow asks Credly to issue the badge to that person's HowNow email address, and Credly emails them to accept it.
They accept it on Credly. Until then it shows as pending in My Profile › Achievements. Once accepted, they can share it from Credly.
For example, a "Returns Desk Certified" template in Credly can be added to a Handling Returns pathway. Everyone who finishes the pathway gets an email from Credly and, after accepting, can add the badge to their LinkedIn profile.
Rules worth knowing
One piece of content per badge, unless duplicates are allowed. If a template doesn't allow duplicate badges in Credly, it can only be added to one course or pathway. If duplicates are turned off later, HowNow keeps the badge on the first content it was added to, removes it from the rest, and emails those content owners.
Retired badges are removed from content. If a template is archived in Credly, it's taken off every course and pathway and marked This credly badge is no longer available.
Credly badges can't be given manually, unlike HowNow badges. See Give a badge or certificate to someone manually.
A failed issue is silent. If Credly rejects the request, HowNow removes the badge from the person's achievements without telling anyone. If someone finished the content but has no badge, ask your admin to check the badge in Credly.

Written from code: Credly isn't connected in the test workspace and doesn't appear in Apps › Connectors. Check: the Credly option when adding course and pathway rewards, the pending state in Achievements, how quickly archive and duplicate changes in Credly reach HowNow, and the silent removal (KF-222, KF-224).
Who uses it
Admins connect and disconnect Credly and look up badge IDs.
Creators add Credly badges to their courses and pathways.
Learners earn, accept and share the badges.
