Disconnect your Credly account from HowNow so people can no longer earn Credly badges.
Before you start
You need Admin access.
Disconnect Credly
In the sidebar, select Apps, then the Connectors tab.
Under Enabled Connectors, select the Credly card.
At the bottom of the panel, select Disable.
Note
If Disable is unavailable and shows You cannot disable while badges are being imported., wait for the import email, then close and reopen the panel.
In Disable Credly?, select Disable.
Warning
This removes every Credly badge from every course and pathway at once, so nobody can earn them. It can't be undone: reconnecting doesn't put them back.
You see Credly disabled and Credly moves to Available Connectors. HowNow then removes the badges in the background.
Good to know
You can't reconnect straight away. Until the removal finishes, Enable shows You cannot enable while badges are being removed.
Badges already issued stay in Credly. HowNow doesn't revoke anything in your Credly account, so people keep the badges they accepted there.
To use Credly again, reconnect it, then ask creators to add the badges back to their courses and pathways.
Needs review (internal)
Written from code: Credly isn't connected in the test workspace, so Disable wasn't tried. The dialog says issued badges stay visible in HowNow, but the removal job also deletes the badge records people's achievements depend on (KF-089). Check on a safe workspace whether earned Credly badges still show in My Profile › Achievements after disconnecting, and whether Credly reward steps are left behind in pathways (KF-223).
